The best football stats apps in 2026

No app is best at everything. Some are built for live scores across thousands of competitions, others for going deep on one match before it's played. Here we compare four apps and say plainly what each one does best, even when the answer isn't ours.

We make StatLabs, one of the apps in this comparison. Details about the other apps come from their own App Store pages in October 2026.

The short answer

  • Want to follow as many leagues and sports as possible: Flashscore or Sofascore.
  • Want the most polished all-round football app, with news and highlights: FotMob.

FotMob

FotMob is where a lot of football fans start. It covers 400+ leagues and competitions, with fast goal alerts, xG and shot maps, player ratings, video, audio commentary and transfer news, all in a very polished package.

Best for: following football in general, with news and highlights in one place.

Less suited to: comparing two teams' form and trends ahead of a specific match.

Sofascore

Sofascore covers 25+ sports and thousands of teams. Its strength is match statistics: xG, shot maps, heatmaps, momentum charts and ratings for over 150,000 players.

Best for: following many sports and seeing how a match actually played out.

Less suited to: a combined view of what usually happens between two teams before the match starts.

Flashscore

Flashscore has the widest coverage: 30+ sports and over 6,000 competitions. Fast scores, xG, ratings, match previews and predicted lineups.

Best for: getting results from almost everything, fast.

Less suited to: deeper form analysis ahead of a single match.

StatLabs

StatLabs covers fewer leagues, 48 football leagues and cups plus the NHL, but it's built for one thing: the research before a match. Every match page shows both teams' form, how often their last ten games went over 2.5 goals, saw both teams score or produced lots of corners, and season averages side by side. On top of that there's Pick'Ems, a free prediction game with leaderboards and private groups.

Best for: understanding a match before it's played, in the Premier League, Allsvenskan, the NHL and the other big leagues.

Less suited to: video, news or sports beyond football and the NHL.

The basics are free. Pro is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, with 7 days free.
